Abhaya Counselling Centre

Abhaya was founded in 1985 because of a growing concern for individuals who had nowhere to turn to for mental help. Since its beginning, Abhaya has focused on helping those who have mental disease or addiction as well as helping the less fortunate.

Abhaya has multiple facilities – one for basic care, and skill teaching, another for de-addiction and mental health, and another for young women who need shelter and education.

Abhaya receives aid from the government which allows it to provide free care. It's mental facility, Bodhi, has 15 beds as well as an out-patient program. Recovery treatments include group therapy, individual therapy, family counseling, and doctors who have the skill to diagnose patients accurately.

Abhaya is a relaxing and innovative centre "where the mind is without fear".
